Little Red School House - Farmington 2006
The 153 year old Little Red School House makes its move down Wilton Rd. to the Farmington Fairgrounds.
The school house was closed in 1957, but in recent years
many children have gone back in time by spending a day at the schoolhouse to experience what school was like in the old days. Now the Little Red School House will continue its mission as an educational tool in
its new home at the fairgrounds. Fair officials will be setting it on a lot near an Agricultural Museum, a blacksmith shop and a maple syrup shack. Their vision is to set up a Sturbridge Village-type of set up
and the schoolhouse helps complete part of that vision. Nickerson Building Movers removed the "ell" and the roof for this move and then reattached them at the new location. Enjoy the pictures!
